How to Use EZ Text Tracking

EZ Loader TMS includes a built-in, text-based tracking function called EZ Tracking. This feature allows the user to schedule tracking requests to a driver's mobile device or send a tracking request at will. When an EZ Tracking is scheduled by the User from within a Load profile, the recipient receives a text message containing a weblink to open their mobile web browser. The recipient (Driver) simply clicks the link and EZ Loader's text tracking feature will ping the driver's location at that moment, provide an estimated ETA based on that location, send updates to you or your Customer, and display the Driver's location on a map right within the load profile.

How to Send a Tracking Ping

Step 1 – Go to Load Page and Click “Shipment Tracking” at the bottom of the page

  • Schedule for Later

What will the Recipient Receive?

The recipient will receive 2 text messages: An introductory message containing basic information about the Load and a 2nd message that contains the weblink. The location is retrieved when the link is clicked and the mobile device's web browser is opened to view an internal EZ Loader webpage. See screenshot below:

How does the tracking link work?

When the recipient clicks the link in the text message, the mobile browser may display a pop up message requesting to "Allow" access to record the location. The User must select "Allow" for the feature to work correctly. If the User selects "Block" or user's mobile device permissions are set to prevent tracking from within the mobile device browser, the tracking request will fail.

When a successful track is received, the recipient's mobile device internal webpage will display a "Successful" tracking result as seen below.

When an unsuccessful track is received due to the recipient's device location tracking settings, the internal webpage will display a "User denied the request for Geolocation" message as seen below.

***NOTE: EZ Loader does not have the ability to notify the EZ Loader User if the recipient's device denies the tracking request.

Tracking Email Notification

A notification e-mail will be sent to the EZ Loader User who initiated the EZ Track when a driver clicks the link and pings the location
