EDI 214 - Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message

In EZ Loader TMS, EDI Messages often run in the background of the system.

For every EDI setup that is established, there are several message types that can be transmitted. One of those message types is EDI 214

What is EDI 214?

The EDI 214 transaction is used by truckload and LTL carriers to inform shippers of the detailed status of their shipments.... The EDI 214 is also called EDI Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message and x12 Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message.

How is EDI 214 triggered in EZ Loader?

Status Change Trigger

In a load, several STATUS CHANGES will trigger a 214 message to your customer, these messages are sent when the load is put in one of these statuses:

  • On Site - Pickup
  • Picked Up -or- Enroute
  • On Site - Delivery
  • Delivered
  • TONU

Check Call Trigger

Also in a load page you can utilize the CHECK CALL SECTION to trigger a 214 message to your customer, these messages are sent when a certain check call is checked in:

Check calls that trigger 214's (these must be checked in order):

  • Arrived for Pickup (OnSite-Pickup status change)
  • Loaded or Enroute (PickedUp or Enroute status change)
  • Arrived at Consignee (OnSite-Delivery status change)
  • Unloaded (Delivered status change)
